Nona #2

I was thinking about a certain old-fashioned style of earrings worn by Italian grandmothers (including my own Sicilian grandmother) and my mind got to wandering -- but not too far from the original idea.  These are 18k green gold bowls, matte finished inside, high polished outside for contrast. The setting and shepherd's hooks are in rose gold. 

And what makes these earrings even more vibrant is the pair of natural, untreated, mandarin orange spessartite garnets.  Hello!  Love, love, love spessartites, and if I was pushed to chose a 'stranded-on-a-desert-island' gem, it just might be spessartite because nothing would keep my spirits up like them.  This gorgeous pair total 2.97 cts.
